Joshua Jeremiah Washington (a.k.a. JJ)

JJ prefers to sit quietly on the periphery and observe others' behavior rather than strike up a conversation. He can often be observed sitting on the lawn making sketches of passers-by or taking photographs of local birds. He often takes long walks along the school's nature trails. Most people assume that they could easily take JJ in a fight due to his slight build. However, he boasts a surprising level of speed, stamina, and agility due to his active lifestyle. He's also a fairly impressive shot.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Joshua is scrawny and of medium height. However, he frequently goes on long walks or hikes, and his superhero training requires him to spend some time working out. As a result of these activities, Joshua is fairly toned and has excellent stamina. He can easily lift his own body weight and climb over obstacles if necessary.

Special abilities

Joshua's metahuman ability is sensory hypercognition. This allows him to see and hear more details than the average person, and he reacts faster to danger than others can. These abilities make him difficult to sneak up on or to land a hit on in close combat. JJ also has impressive aim, even when moving or firing quickly.

Apparel & Accessories

The primary colors in Joshua's wardrobe are white, lavender, and light blues. He wears khakis every day and always tucks in his shirt. Joshua always has his trusty sketchpad tucked into his back pocket, and he can often be seen carrying his camera around his neck. JJ wears glasses unless he needs to see something far away. When he's asked why someone with super senses wears glasses, he just shrugs. "I see better without 'em, but it starts to hurtin' after a while."

Like most metahumans, Joshua received his abilities during extreme metal stress. He doesn't like to talk about what happened, but it had something to do with his father.

Intellectual Characteristics

Joshua always completes his schoolwork on time, and it's always very polished and professional, though sometimes a little bland. While he sometimes struggles to grasp the concepts he's being taught, he always works hard and pays attention to the smallest details of the assignment.

JJ hates bullies. While he's usually very mild-mannered, nothing will stir him into a rage like seeing the strong pick on the weak.

JJ likes quiet places away from people. He says that it's less overwhelming for him to be out in nature.

JJ is often seen fidgeting with random objects or doodling. All his pencils are chewed at the ends, and he can't seem to stop adjusting his reading glasses. He's easily startled by loud noises.

Joshua is always clean and well groomed. Some people say that his hair is a wig because it's always styled the exact same way.

Family Ties

JJ writes to his mother every week, and every week he gets a letter back from her in the mail. He also gets letters from his father, on occasion.

Joshua is always well dressed and well mannered, so he tends to make a good impression with adults. To his peers, however, JJ often comes off as awkward, stilted, and artificial.

JJ usually prefers to stay on the periphery of groups and observe rather than participate. He tends to stare at people just a little too long, and it makes them uncomfortable.

Hobbies & Pets

JJ doesn't have any pets, but he does often leave birdseed out for the local birds. He even built a birdhouse and got permission to hang it up outside his window. In his spare time, JJ likes to draw, take pictures, and birdwatch. He's also not bad at woodworking.

JJ is a Freshman at the Gemini Academy for Metahuman Development. He is enrolled in the Superhero Preparatory Program.
