The One About the Sky Father
“The One About the Sky Father” is the creation myth of the Church of the Sky. It tells the story of how the sky father came to be and how he came to create the universe.
The story was first recorded in a secluded part of the elven homeworld, but since the arrival of the elves in Eden during the First Age, elements of the tale have spread throughout every subsequent iteration of the Clarkwoods Literary Universe. It is particularly popular with the halfling custodians of Eden. They believe the Church’s Sky Father and their own deity, Aiki Wawo, are one and the same.
Summary
In the beginning, there was nothing. For a great long while, nothing. But then nothing realized it was nothing, and that was something.
Something realized that once it had been nothing. Then it realized that it would soon be something else. Nothing, then something, then something else. And so, the inexorable march of time began.
Eventually, something began to wonder if there might something more. And so, there was. It wondered if there were any limits to what something might be, and it found the answer was no. There were no limits. Something could be anything. And so, something tore itself apart—piece by piece—so that there could be everything.
Over time, something became something less. But in the process, it created something more. It created all of us, and all of this. And though one day there will be nothing left to give, the Father of us all—he who looks down from the sky above—will always be somewhere within this everywhere that he has made. And so long as we give of ourselves as our creator does of himself each and every day, there will never again be a time when something must be made from nothing.
