Subhuman Society
The Subhuman Society, originally the Subelven Society, is an activist organization in Eden. It is dedicated to defending the rights of the survivors of the Genetic Elevation and Manipulation process, as well as their descendants. During the Second Age reign of Queen Frieda Jacobs, it was feared by some that the Society might become the next great superpower of this post-apocalyptic paradise.
With more than 1.1 million members at their peak, plus attorneys from a dozen species and offices across the world, no non-governmental organization held more sway in Eden during the Second Age.
Structure
The Society is governed by a five-person board operating out of The Garden. This board then appoints Regional Advocates to run the day-to-day operations of the Society’s 54 satellite offices.
Culture
The Society is committed to the creation and preservation of a more perfect Eden, one in which all life—sapient and non-sapient alike—is afforded dignity, liberty, and the unimpeded ability to pursue happiness. They consider Nish’s Manifesto their foundational document and seek to live their lives in accordance with its guiding principles.
Assets
It is an open secret that the Society was founded with a generous donation from the merfolk crime boss Aria Andersen. While both the Society and Anderson publicly deny any such association, the change in name from “Subelven” to “Subhuman” coincided with a marked uptick in activity and publicity—as well as support from other elf-dominated organizations known to be Andersen affiliates.
History
In the years following the The Invasion of Oz, many in Eden feared that Oscar Diggs persecution of the halflings would not be the end of speciesism in this purgatorial paradise. In 143, a small group of elevated pigs, wolves, and hares gathered in the Forest of Fangs to discuss what they might do. Eventually, they were able to win to their side members of the species elevated in the First Age—Wolaríxkín, Snowfolk, and others—and the organization was off to the races.
Because the goal of Second Age genetic elevation and manipulation had been to unlock the secrets of elven immortality, the Society at first dubbed themselves Subelven. After a meeting with the elven ichthythrope Aria Andersen, however, they opted for Subhuman instead. Human beings like Oscar Diggs were far more of a threat to the rights of Society members than elves were, Andersen claimed, and the elves could be powerful allies in the fight for equity and justice—but only if the Society stopped alienating them with their name.
Humans being the worst threat in all multiverses! It is unfortunately true! I like all the political maneuverings happeining in the background here!

Thanks! With the plot of the first 12 issues of Blood of Seven Queens pretty much set, I find myself now setting up stuff for the second big arc (which I may or may not call The Queen of Seven Swords, as I think I mentioned before).
