The warforged colossi were larger-scale versions of the warforged titans commissioned by the nation of
Cyre and developed by
House Cannith during the final days of the
Last War. They were intended to be a superweapon to defend
Cyre and destroy its enemies; however, the Day of Mourning occurred shortly after they were first used, destroying
Cyre. While some colossi survived and remain in the
Mournland, the dangers of the
Mournland make it difficult for
House Cannith, or any other interested parties, to reclaim the creations.
History
House Cannith had conducted a number of experiments with large war golems during the
Last War, the most successful of which were the warforged titans. While the modern warforged were
Cannith's most successful creation, the House still had interest in building larger-scale constructs. When Cyre approached House Cannith to build a deadlier weapon,
House Cannith began development of the warforged colossus.
Cyre first deployed the warforged colossi in battle to defend its capital of
Metrol against
Karrnathi forces, destroying thousands of soldiers, but before
Cyre could take advantage of its victory, the Day of Mourning occurred on the 20th of Olarune, 994 YK, wiping out the nation, along with the warforged colossi.
While the colossi were lost or destroyed in the Mourning,
House Cannith is still interested in tracking down the remaining warforged colossi, in the hopes that some are still restorable or at least salvageable for parts.
Description
The warforged colossus is a massive construct ranging from 200‒300 ft (61‒91 m) in height. They were barely sentient, similar to the warforged titans in their intelligence, and this was supplemented by a crew. The colossus was powered by a large Khyber dragonshard, and a network of docents were used to coordinate the various parts of the colossus. The interior of a colossus was hollow to allow for it to carry troops.
Abilities
A colossus had multiple weapons. It had mechanical turrets and could use its arms and legs to crush enemies. In addition, many were equipped with massive blades or saws. Some had the ability to harness elemental powers, e.g. concentrating fire into a plasma weapon. Its most terrifying weapon was a red beam from its mouth that could disintegrate enemies in its path.
