Session 95: Eyes
General Summary
- The first location visited on the new day was Drystone College. This location was of particular interest to Bagan, who did the honors of further exploration. Topics within included the Codex of Tsll Y'gall, Arcane Crafting for the Inarcane, artifacts of the Cogs, and Thiccok Nigrix. Eyes appeared on walls and bookshelves, and Bagan noticed they were nearly identical to those in the text about Xoriat. N'nchyk poked one of these eyes, and it disappeared, though the tip of his finger became mildly slimy.
- Ashpin sought out information regarding the Enclave of the Valley relating to his weapon, and found mention of a powerful set of woodbark armor that scholars do not know the origin of, but Ashpin is convinced it was from the Enclave. Additionally, scholars are certain of the existence of tarrasques, but are uncertain where they could have gone. Viribus searched for information on sentient weapons, and found polarizing results. Powerful wielders of powerful sentience typically ended in great renown or terrible downfall. For example, King Galifar I — the founder of the great Kingdom of Galifar — was known to have a sentient staff that he considered his wisest advisor. This staff was rumored to have been sent to Vrigan at the king's request.
- The Crew also uncovered a (certainly) intriguing theory regarding eldritch machines — that their sparse but notable entries in history were the result of Aureon of the Sovereign Host's direct intervention on the Material Plane at various points throughout history.
- The next location was Lyrris College, where the Crew learned more about Thiccok Nigrix. Various whispers in the hallways were noted by Frisian.
- Afterwards, the Crew made their way to Blackdragon College. Topics within included Aberrant Dragonmarks, Thiccok Nigrix, and a Public-access forbidden tome called From Flesh to Form: The Alchemical Soul. Despite the best efforts of the Library, this text kept returning to Public shelves, annd discussed the troubling claim that any material could be taught to yearn towards sapience through disturbing alchemical and transmutation experiements. Several chapters were complete nonsense.
- Next up was Aureon's Holt. Here, the Crew learned of successful politicians of the past, Thiccok Nigrix, and the newest issue of the Sharn Inquisitive: Issue #9714.
- Lastly, but not leastly, was the Lower Stacks, the confusing subterranean archives beneath the entire Library. A prominent feature of the Stacks was the Windingwarren, a set of dizzying passages and shortcuts that rose only to the height of the typical gnome, serving the experienced staff of the Library. Within the Stacks was information about Maximus Marius, a King's Citadel training recording about detecting shapeshifters, a variety of sources that mentioned the Rage of War, a help desk ticket regarding Thiccok Nigrix, and a fleshy slab that listed the following phrase in over a dozen languages: "The daelkyr are here." Upon reading this, the Crew found hundreds of eyes on the wall behind them, watching.
- The Crew lost the main trivia event again to Brassibubbled “Brassy” Tindlelooprung, though they did emerge victorious in the bonus round.
- N'nchyk inquired about several names found in a prayerbook in the Cogs with Brother Halien, and learned many things of great import.
- With that, the Crew began to discuss their next steps.
