Light Forged in Defiance of Shadow

Xelene and Randia created in angels in order to withstand the demons and their Gandor leader

As Celian Maleficium’s dominion over Ebbavion deepened, and her demon legions swept through the lands with unchecked devastation, the gods began to recognize the growing imbalance. No mortal force could stand against the chaos-wrought Gandor or the terrifying will of their dark creator. A force of equal magnitude - yet opposite in nature - was needed.

In answer to this rising threat, Xelene, goddess of light and beauty, and Randia, goddess of justice, truth, and order, took action. Though differing in nature and divine domain, the two goddesses combined their strength to forge a new race of celestial beings: the angels.

These radiant beings were crafted not only to rival the demons in power, but to embody everything the demons opposed - clarity over confusion, beauty over fear, and justice over tyranny. Born of divine intent and tempered by mortal prayers, the angels became the first celestial warriors to step into the mortal realm since the creation of the Gandor.

Their arrival brought hope to a world in decline. The angels became champions of resistance, defenders of sanctuaries, and lighthouses for the scattered faithful. While their numbers were limited, each was a match for a demon general, and they carried within them the unwavering will of their creators.

Temples of Xelene and Randia flourished in the wake of the angels' descent. For many, this marked the first time the divine were seen acting directly to intervene in mortal fate. But this act of creation did not end the conflict - it escalated it.

The angels would soon find themselves leading the charge in the First War of Light and Darkness, a holy struggle that would leave scars upon all planes of Ebbavion.
