Servitute Edict

Let it be known that all able-bodied citizens of the Dukedom of Escya, having attained their seventeenth year, are hereby required to serve a term of no less than fifteen (15) years in the Widton City Guard.

• Exemptions shall be granted solely to those of noble blood or those employed within essential sectors, namely the fishery, mercantile trade, and institutions of magical academia within the restraints of Widton.
• Any citizen who shall refuse conscription shall be subjected to trial by combat within the Duke’s Arena. Regardless of outcome, the subject shall be deemed conscripted and their service shall commence forthwith.
• All conscripts shall bear the Loyalty Seal, a magical brand of the escyan sigil. Any act of tampering, removal, or concealment shall be deemed treason and punished by death.
