This change made people desperate, and desperation drives radical choices and radical choices have radical consequences. During this time many, many, many people lost their lives to cults that tried to rekindle their connection to the gods or wizards who discovered a new type of magic, blood magic. Many prefer not to speak of these dark times hence why the era also bears the name as The Unspeakable Age.
