Wōđan (Woa-dann)
The First Warrior & King of the Æsir
Wōđan appears as a prominent god in the Fryst Pantheon. The god's name has been translated and said to originate from the Dwarf term furor, which can mean 'rage', 'fury', 'madness', or 'frenzy', but many historians have also claimed that it could possibly stem from Fyrimdei which means "divinely gift". Both these names would make sense, as it is said that Wōđan is one of the few first users of the Pendant of Chronias, an incredible magical artefact with the ability to make mortals into gods, and gods into mortals.
Frequently Wōđan is portrayed as a one-eyed and long-bearded goliath warrior, wielding a spear named Gungnir, or elsewhere he has been told to appear in disguise wearing a cloak and a broad hat. He is often accompanied by some of his animal familiars—the wolves Geri and Freki or the ravens Huginn and Muninn, who bring him information from all over Midgard. Whenever the god graces the earth with his presence, he rides the flying, eight-legged Valenar Steed Sleipnir across the sky and into the underworld. In these texts, he frequently seeks greater knowledge, most famously by obtaining the Theorem Patch, a magical artefact that grants the user vision and wisdom.
Besides this according to Fryst belief, Wōđan is the god who started the creation of the world by slaying the primordial titans Ygmar, Ifrit, Valar and Gairen. He used his cunning and physical abilities to do this, hence why Wōđan in the Fryst pantheon is the God of War and Wisdom. In later folklore, Wōđan sometimes has been associated with charms and other forms of magic, particularly hexes and curses. He infamously created the underworld, or Utgard, by drowning the bottom layers of Frystdrassil in his piss whilst chanting.
