The Astral Gate
The gate to protect us all
Created many years ago, the Astral Gate stands as both the proudest and most shameful piece of human ingenuity. The Astral Gate is essentially the world of Eastrix's biggest seal spell to ever have been created. Its expansive size and strength is truly remarkable. Its reach has been said to be as long as the entity as the realm of Eastrix. Its blue glow now illuminating the world of Eastrix with Eastrixian denizens not knowing its great importance.
The gate itself is said to be a wall of highly power magical energy that works almost equal to the River Styx, however instead of guiding souls in the vast space of the multiverse of Eastrix, the Astral Gate keeps souls out of Astaria. Its blue emanating arcane light shines bright and can be predominantly seen in higher altitude regions of Eastrix. It can display dynamic patterns of brilliant lights that appear as curtains, rays, spirals, or dynamic flickers covering the entire sky.

History
In the year of 308 still during the Balanced Epoch, the first-ever 12th level spell was cast; Greater Forbiddance. The original intend of the spell could never have been forseen to have such a profound impact upon the whole of Eastrix. The caster was Great-Caller Geardkosh, which was cast in his homeland of Eldaria. Eldaria had throughout the years suffered from many undead attacks stemming from the Grain Disaster of 312 BtS. The spell got the name of Greater Forbiddance, which, unlike its 6hth level cousin, has no limitation on range nor on duration, however, the material comments were said to be drastic in nature and the Great-Caller didn't anticipate this. Great-Caller Geardkosh, unfortunately, lost his life during this casting. Firebringer Rheyzor Greyskull along with Solar Ordri Manastra observed this casting.
After the verification by the Circle of Arcanum, the spell was legalized but the Circle warned many wizards, that the effects of not acquiring rightful material components was devasting and could lead to death. A group of very dedicated wizards from the ancient order the Forever Knights, saw Greater forbiddance as a great opportunity to ensure the safety of Eastrix. Greater Forbidance was therefor cast once again in cooperation with the rest of the Circle of Arcanum against the evils of the divine realms. Thus the Astral Gate was created however with the targeting being off, all divine beings with affected by set spell and with the wizards once again miscalculating the needed material components; a catastrophe happened. As the absorption of the material components happened, the moons of Lumanor aligned with the spells casted direction. The moons of Lumanor, was heavily damaged and a great number of casualties was had. To top this off, many gods of good was by proxy of the spell, not allowed to enter the Material Realm ever again.
