Keeper of the Deep

Leader of the Khazadthuri

On a crisp, clear day in Barak Drukar, the capital's massive hall was filled with a sense of anticipation. Today was the Day of Deep Reverence, a time when the Drukarzark Dhardwarkar, Keeper of the Deep, addresses his people, re-affirming their connection to their roots and their collective aspirations. Drakhar Stonefist, clad in his ceremonial armor etched with ancient runes, took his place at the central dias. His resonant voice echoed through the hall as he began his address in Deep Speech. Even though not everyone understood the complex language, they could feel the weight and rhythm of the words, the essence of their shared heritage. "Khazadthuri," he started, "we stand strong, as deep as the core, as resilient as the mountain. We guard our past, forge our present, and carve our future. Each of us, a sentinel of our shared legacy. We are the heart of Frystdrassil, the beacon amid the frost. May our roots remain deep, our hearts stalwart." The hall reverberated with the echoes of his words, the crowd responding with a resounding cheer, their spirits uplifted. The Day of Deep Reverence, as always, had reinforced the bonds that united them, their collective resolve strengthened under the guidance of their respected Keeper, Drakhar Stonefist.
At the heart of Khazadthur's governance, an ancient seat holds power and wisdom, an emblem of the dwarven spirit and their ancestral roots - the Keeper of the Deep. This venerable title embodies the unity of the present with the past, the fusion of the surface's bustling life with the profound mysteries of the core. As the guardian of Khazadthur's heritage and hidden secrets, the Keeper of the Deep stands as a living testament to the nation's enduring traditions and values.   Drakhar Stonefist, the current Keeper of the Deep, embodies this essence with an unyielding spirit and an unwavering commitment to his people. He also serves as the Head of the Circle of the Deep, the influential council that shapes the course of Khazadthur's future while keeping its roots firmly grounded in its rich past.

History

The title of Keeper of the Deep was formed during the Grey Years, soon after the founding of Khazadthur. The first Keeper was the founder of Khazadthur himself, King Brawin, who recognized the importance of safeguarding the culture, traditions, and secrets of the newly formed dwarven realm. He played a crucial role in the formation of the Circle of the Deep, establishing the structure of governance that Khazadthur follows to this day. Another significant event was during the Necrons Split. It was the Keeper of the Deep at the time, Tharok Ironheart, who led the kingdom through the period of chaos and instability, strengthening the defenses of Khazadthur, and ensuring the dwarves' survival.   The role of the Keeper of the Deep was also pivotal during the Rot in Eastrix. The decision to isolate Khazadthur and close the borders to protect the kingdom from the spreading corruption was a defining moment in the title's history, further solidifying the importance and respect for the position.
