Himmia
Home of Gods and Fortunate Souls
Argumondus: "Bhrask, you dare violate the sanctity of the Dragonlands? Your actions provoke a divine crusade; blood will be shed, souls will be lost, and it will rain fire upon your realm of Kul. I beseech you to cease and return to the shadows from whence you came. Let the blood of innocents be spared." Bhrask: "Ah, Argumondus, always the self-righteous, always the noble. You speak of a divine crusade as though it's a curse, but I see it as sport. Blood will be shed? Souls will be lost? To me, that's a celebration. The world is but a playground, and I've come for fun." Argumondus: "You revel in suffering and delight in chaos, but know this—every action bears a consequence. Are you willing to risk the annihilation of your world, your followers, all for your twisted notion of 'fun'?" Bhrask: "Consequence? Ah, you do make it sound like a compelling challenge. But understand this, Argumondus, I am not afraid of consequences. I thrive in them. Besides, a few thousand souls are but a drop in the ocean of the Dark Hungers gullet." Argumondus: "Don't say I didn't warn you, Bhrask. If you proceed, you invoke a celestial war, a tempest of divine retribution that neither you nor your twisted realm will survive. Make your choice." Bhrask: "Warnings are but invitations for the daring. Still, I appreciate the passion in your plea. I shall consider it—as another form of entertainment, perhaps."Himmia is the celestial realm of virtue, a multi-layered tapestry of heavens orbiting the Astral Heart, the divine core. Comprising ten unique heavens, each an embodiment of divine ideals and virtues, Himmia serves both as an eternal reward for the faithful souls and as a radiant barrier that protects the world of Eastrix. With its perpetual light emanating divine energy, Himmia stands as a testament to the gods' guardianship and a beacon of hope for all living beings in the cosmos. An excerpt from Blackend Hearts, A divine gospel
Geography
Himmia consist of several demi-realms called heavens. These heavens have all been formed to emcompass the gods idea of the moral good. In total there is ten heavens. They collectively form Himmia, the realm of the good and blessed in Eastrix. Each of these heavens is unique in its geography and features, but all are united by their reflection of the divine ideals they represent. Here is a quick describtion of each heaven.
The tenth heaven, Celestion, the Battlefront: A heaven dedicated to The Red Matron, the Battlefront is a realm where souls are endlessly trained in the arts of war and combat, but not for the sake of violence. Instead, this heaven is a testament to the strategic prowess and cunning of The Red Matron, emphasizing the importance of smart decisions and tactics in warfare. It's a paradise for those who lived their mortal lives as master strategists, tacticians, and leaders on the battlefield. It also functions as the first line of defence for Himmia in the case of an attack on the ten heavens.
The ninth heaven, Phaethon, The Golden Halls: This heaven corresponds to Waukeen, the Merchant's Friend. Here, souls that lived their lives as honest and skilled merchants find themselves in a realm of infinite wealth and abundance. The Golden Halls are lined with precious metals and gemstones, and the souls here engage in endless, fair trade. It's a place where the value of honest commerce is celebrated, and where the souls enjoy the fruits of their fair dealings. Lined with wine fields aplenty and a river of pure flowing minerals and coin.
Samas, Dawn's Embrace: This heaven is dedicated to Lathander, the Crying God. It's a realm of perpetual dawn, where the sky is always painted with the soft hues of a new day. Souls here find comfort in a place where sorrow is transformed into hope. It's a paradise for those who lived their lives spreading hope and inspiration, and who can now find solace in the eternal embrace of the morning light. A new day always means a new hope.
Sigil, Bastion of the Fallen: This enourmous bastion along with the grand fields are a testament to the fallen gods of the pantheon, including Tomarin the True, Bahamut the Platinum Behemoth, and Lithanos the Pure Light. The bastion along with the fields are filled with monuments and statues commemorating the virtues of the fallen gods, and the halls of the bastion are filled with the old teachings of these gods. Some call this heaven the Divine Library as it works essentially as a divine storage unit for fallen gods, however its a very cerimonial library, as the head library of the gods can be found Legdeslygardia. The souls in this heaven are dedicated to preserving the memory of fallen gods and stand as a reminder to the gods that though they are immortal the mortals and other beings of Eastrix have their ways to kill the unkillable.
The Tribunal Grounds: This heaven is home to the Divine Tribunal, a place where mortal creatures can prove their dedication and capability as servants of a particular faith. It's a vast arena where champions of the gods can display their skills and earn the right to become exalted servants of their deity. This heaven is unique, as it is one of the few places where mortals can directly interact with the divine, and it has been the stage for many legendary trials throughout history.
Deusgard, the Demigod's Sanctum: This heaven consists of floating islands amidst a vast, cloud-filled sky. The islands are covered with lush vegetation and connected by rainbow bridges. Each island is the domain of a demigod or quasi-deity, where they continue their work in service of the greater pantheon. This heaven is reserved for demigods and quasi-deities who have earned their place among the divine. The Demigod's Sanctum is a realm of near limitless power, where these beings can continue their eternal work in service of the greater pantheon. This heaven is a place of celebration for the unique contributions and deeds of these lesser deities.
Lygardia, the Archives of Truth: This heaven is dedicated to Tomarin the True and represents the pursuit of truth. Here, souls that have dedicated their lives to seeking the truth in all its forms are rewarded with an endless library filled with the accumulated knowledge of the ages. Souls here can spend their eternity exploring the truth and deepening their understanding of the universe. A seemingly chaotic realm where floating islands of rock and swirling mists form a labyrinth of knowledge. These islands are covered in ancient tomes and scrolls that hold the secrets of the universe. Souls here navigate this vast archive, exploring the endless pursuit of truth.
The Dragonlands, Bastion of Honor: Dedicated to Bahamut the Platinum Behemoth, this heaven is for those who lived their lives with unwavering honor. Souls here find themselves in an impregnable fortress that stands as a testament to the ideals of loyalty, duty, and honor. It's a haven for those who lived their lives with integrity and upheld their principles even in the face of adversity.
Carceri, Halls of Justice: This heaven is a series of interlocking halls and chambers, each a place of judgment and justice is dedicated to Lithanos the Pure Light, where the souls of those who lived their lives pursuing justice find their reward. The Halls of Justice are a place where the ideals of fairness, equality, and justice are celebrated and upheld. Souls here are rewarded for their unwavering commitment to these ideals.
Elysium, the Grand Bliss: The smallest heaven, Elysium is an exclusive realm where only the gods may enter. It is a place of perfect order and balance, where the gods convene in a council chamber at the heart of the realm to discuss the affairs of the cosmos. The terrain is a flat, shining surface, resembling a polished mirror, reflecting the light of pure goodness that illuminates the entire realm.
Besides these heavens Himmia serves as a sun for Eastrix, its brilliant illumination shining across the material plane. This radiant light is not just an ordinary sunbeam, though. It is a powerful, protective aura that emanates from the very essence of the gods themselves, enveloping the world in a shroud of divine energy. This shield of light not only bathes the world in the luminance of the heavens but also acts as a barrier, protecting Eastrix from external threats, malevolent entities, and cosmic disturbances. It is a testament to the devotion of the gods and their guardianship over the world they cherish.
The light that pours forth from Himmia is not just physical light. It carries with it the blessings and virtues of the heavens, infusing the world with hope, goodness, and inspiration. It touches the hearts and minds of mortals, inspiring them to aspire for greatness, to love unconditionally, and to act selflessly. In essence, the light of Himmia is a beacon of hope for all living beings, a constant reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of light.

Ecosystem
The ecology and environment are a magnificent blend of the mundane and the divine. Each of the ten heavens has its unique ecosystem, but there are overarching principles that govern the entire realm of Himmia.
General Environment:
Himmia is bathed in eternal, radiant light that emanates from the core of the heavens themselves. This light serves not just as illumination but also as a life-giving force. The air is imbued with a feeling of purity and divine energy, which makes even the act of breathing an invigorating experience. The realm is full of landscapes that mirror the most breathtaking and idealized versions of natural environments found on Eastrix but magnified in beauty and serenity. Rolling hills, verdant forests, cascading waterfalls of crystalline water, and sky-high mountains capped with everlasting snow exist in perfect harmony. These landscapes also exhibit a form of "divine sentience," altering and adapting themselves to reflect the virtues and principles of the gods they correspond to.Ecosystem Dynamics:
The celestial light nourishes all flora, which includes heavenly versions of mundane trees and plants but also divine botanical wonders that exist nowhere else. These flora often have properties that mimic their celestial surroundings; a plant in Phaethon, The Golden Halls, might produce fruit made of pure gold, for example. The fauna of Himmia is an awe-inspiring array of celestial creatures and the souls of virtuous animals from Eastrix. From divine elks to glowing birds that sing songs of pure joy, each creature is a specimen of perfection within its species. Just like the flora, they too possess divine characteristics reflective of their residing heaven. Creatures in the Battlefront, Celestion, might have armor-like scales, symbolizing the art of war and strategy.Symbiosis and Interaction:
The creatures and plants don't just co-exist; they engage in a form of "divine symbiosis." The radiant birds of Samas, Dawn's Embrace, might feed on the nectar of perpetual dawn-flowers that bloom in the endless morning, and in return, their songs of hope and renewal encourage the flowers to blossom. Creatures in Deusgard, the Demigod's Sanctum, might serve as divine familiars to the residing demigods, assisting them in their cosmic duties.Elemental and Cosmic Forces:
The physical environment in each heaven is maintained not just by natural law but by a set of "divine laws" that correspond to the virtues of the gods they represent. In the Dragonlands, for example, the very stones of the fortress might resonate with a palpable sense of honor, affecting both the behavior and the physical constitution of every creature within its walls.Unique Conditions:
Himmia's protective aura and the celestial light it emits have a ripple effect, influencing the environment in each heaven and also extending to Eastrix itself. The celestial light can transmute or purify pollutants, and even the most catastrophic natural disasters are nonexistent here, maintaining an eternal state of divine equilibrium. Overall, the ecosystem of Himmia is a perfect, self-sustaining cycle that operates under the influence of divine virtues and celestial energies. It's a realm where the spiritual and the natural world meld seamlessly, governed by principles of divine harmony and cosmic order.Localized Phenomena
the heavens in Himmia are rife with celestial phenomena that are unique and divine in nature. These occurrences often have symbolic and sometimes practical implications, acting as manifestations of the gods' virtues or lessons for the residing souls. Here are some distinctive features:
The Celestial Circles:
Each heaven orbits around the central core of Himmia in a complex, choreographed "dance" that is both physically and metaphorically significant. This constant motion creates ripples of divine energy, affecting everything from the celestial light that bathes the heavens to the very weather patterns within each realm.Core of Himmia: The Astral Heart
The core around which all heavens orbit is named "The Astral Heart." Many claim that this colossal celestial body is the remnant of an ancient astral titan from the Elder Times, known as "Magnoris" who was defeated and transmuted by the gods of Eastrix long ago. The Astral Heart now serves as the wellspring of divine light and energy that sustains Himmia and provides its protective aura. The heart radiates pulses of divine energy, known locally as "Heartbeats," that synchronize with the orbital dance in the Celestial Circles of the heavens, affecting various phenomena within them.Spectral Mists of Lygardia:
In Lygardia, the Archives of Truth, spectral mists waft between the floating islands of knowledge. When a soul inhales these mists, they gain temporary access to some piece of universal wisdom, as if the heavens themselves whisper secrets to them.Storms of Valor in Celestion:
Celestion, the Battlefront, experiences storms that are far from destructive. These tempests infuse the warriors and the landscape with bursts of energy, enhancing their prowess and determination. The lightning that cracks the sky is said to carry strategic insights from The Red Matron herself. The River of Eternity in Phaethon:
In Phaethon, a river made of flowing minerals and coins twists and turns through the Golden Halls. Whenever the Astral Heart pulses, the river surges, renewing its wealth and redistributing it throughout the realm, ensuring constant and fair commerce.Dawnsong in Samas:
In Samas, Dawn's Embrace, every morning (which is every moment in this realm), a choir of celestial birds performs the Dawnsong, a hymn that encapsulates hope and renewal. The song aligns with the "Heartbeats," with each pulse from the Astral Heart adding a new verse to the never-ending hymn.Twilight Veil in Deusgard:
In Deusgard, as the islands pass close to the Astral Heart during their orbit, they are briefly bathed in a “Twilight Veil,” a shimmering curtain of colors that invigorates the demigods and quasi-deities, giving them bursts of inspiration or revelation. The Breath of Justice in Carceri:
Occasional winds blow through the halls of Carceri, known as the "Breath of Justice." These winds have the power to unveil the truth, and it is said that no lie can be spoken when they blow. The Mirror Reflections in Elysium:
Elysium’s mirror-like terrain reflects not just the celestial beings but also their thoughts and emotions. During the Council of Gods, as they discuss cosmic affairs, the surface displays scenes and symbols representing their deliberations, all of which are influenced by the pulse of the Astral Heart. These phenomena are not just natural occurrences but are deeply tied to the divine nature of HimmiHistory
From the records of Himmia, this is the current historical timeline:
Formation and Ancient Times:
The earliest records point to the formation of Himmia after the defeat of the ancient astral titan, Aurelius Magna, during the Elder Times. Upon its defeat, the gods transmuted the colossal celestial body into the core of Himmia, now known as the "Astral Heart."
The Age of Creation:
In the eons that followed, the gods began constructing individual heavens orbiting the Astral Heart. Each heaven was imbued with divine ideals and virtues, and they served both as realms for worthy souls and as extensions of the gods' own attributes. The heavens were arranged in a divine hierarchy, each one serving a different purpose, and thus Himmia was complete.
The Celestial Accord:
Approximately 10,000 years ago, a celestial accord was struck among the gods to establish Himmia as a protective barrier for Eastrix, shielding it from cosmic threats and malevolent entities. It was then that Himmia started emitting the radiant light that acts as a divine shield.
The Fall of the Demigods:
Around 5,000 years ago, during a period known as the "Era of Turmoil," several demigods and lesser deities were cast out from the heavens for defying the will of the greater gods. A special heaven, Deusgard, was created to accommodate these beings, allowing them to continue their work in service to the divine plan, albeit in a restricted capacity.
The Rise of the Divine Tribunal:
The Tribunal Grounds were established around 2,000 years ago as a space for mortal souls to prove their worth and dedication to the gods. This addition changed the dynamic of Himmia, making it not just a realm of reward but also a realm of trial and ascension for the faithful.
The Chronicles of the Fallen:
About 1,000 years ago, the heaven of Sigil was created as a memorial to gods who have fallen or have been forgotten. This sacred place serves as a repository of knowledge and history, with the aim to ensure that these deities are not forgotten.
Present Day:
Today, Himmia continues to serve as a realm of reward and trial for the faithful and as a radiant barrier protecting Eastrix. Recent divine councils have touched upon the changing dynamics in Eastrix and how it might affect Himmia in the future, but for now, the celestial realm remains an unchanging beacon of divine energy.
