Bawon (Ba-w-uan)
The Merrymaker
Bawon is the most physically present of the Loas of Fate. If there is a party then you can be sure to find Bawon present. His forms differed from every party. One party he might be the most charismatic gentlemen you have ever met and at another, he might be a drunk bastard who does nothing but drink, laugh and sleep. Many has downright said that Bawon not only is present at any festivity no matter the festivity origin or location but that he in fact is the party itself. This has led many to believe that Bawon is some kind of god of festivities, giving him the moniker of the Party's Soul. However, Bawon himself has outwardly stated that he is no god and nor would never want to be a god of any kind. The role of god, according to Bawon, is too restricting for any mortal coil with a sense of fun and that being a god would only make the world a sadder place to be.
Depiction
Usually, Bawon is found wearing a top hat, black tailcoat without any shirt under, dark glasses, and cotton plugs in the nostrils, as if to resemble a corpse dressed and prepared for burial in the Cabana Havanan style. Many often, mistake his facepaint for him being an actual skeleton, but up close you will see that in fact he just has a very realistic facepaint. He loves smoking and drinking and is rarely seen without a cigar in his mouth or a glass of rum in his bony fingers.Divine Domains
Whilst the loas aren't outright gods who offer divine powers, they are highly magical creatures that can share their powers alike what gods do. So Loas dont exactly have a divine domain alike gods, however they do an area of expertise that they favour. For Bawon it is the party and festivities found around Eastrix that attracts him and his magic. Indulging heavily in either wine, music, or ecstatic dance will help you gain the favour of Bawon. Through it Bawon will help free his followers from self-conscious fear and care, and subvert the oppressive restraints of the powerful. Those who partake of his mysteries are believed to become possessed and empowered by Bawon himself.
