Rodinian history is extensive, stretching back 370 million years to the dawn of early Kellvassian civilization. It encompasses millions of conflicts, and the cyclical churn of regimes rising and falling innumerable times like the sun and the moon. Almost every political system known to the Rodinians has been tried at some point, many repeatedly revisited after being sufficiently buried in their long term memories. The current hybrid system of constitutional democratic monarchy seems to be holding out rather well, however is showing early signs of potential collapse in the future.
The history of Rodinia is divided up into six significant eons. These eons are often declared in hindsight, with the current eon usually not being declared until Rodinia is significantly into it. They aren't part of the formal Kellvassian calendar system, and their boundaries are blurred. Their official start dates are taken to the nearest Kellvassian calendar epoch start date. Eons define chapters in Rodinian history based on a theme.
Rodinian Historical Eons
The Kelvassian Eon
375 million years ago to 338 million years ago
Lasting 37 million years, this eon was characterized by the isolation of the Kelvass as they struggled to find their place as a burgeoning civilization in a universe that didn’t care for them. They met other civilizations and lifeforms, but this contact wasn’t what they hoped it would be and was fraught with suspicion, conflict and peril. It was a struggle, and they nearly met their end several times.
The Rodinian Eon
338 million years ago to 201 million years ago
This eon, lasting 137 million years, began with the discovery of the Visians on Earth and included first contact between them and the Kellvass, as well as observation and eventual contact with the Tenerians and Carnians following their subsequent evolution and development. It was the eon where the union of the Creatures of Earth began to flourish and was a marked change from the preceding eon of loneliness and nihilism faced by the Kellvass. With the universe not offering much in the way of trust and openness, the Kellvass and other Rodinian races became inwardly focused on the promise of the Earth and each other.
The Nadrakian Eon
201 million years ago to 66 million years ago
This eon began with contact between the Rodinians and the Nadrakians, and lasted 135 million years. It covered the Nadrakian’s annexation of the Milky Way galaxy into the realm of Archnadrakian Balaine and the imposition of his order upon it. Prior to this, the Rodinians had managed to push and elbow their way to the summit of the Milky Way’s power structure off the back of their guile, tenacity, cunning and the Earth’s rapidly billowing spiritual aura powering their incredible psikinetics. The Nadrakians were a shock to them, as up until now no species or civilization could compete with the power or cunning of a Rodinian. The Nadrakians by contrast simply outclassed the Rodinians. Rodinia was unwilling to surrender to the Nadrakians, and bitterly resisted the seemingly benevolent aliens' attempts to pacify and subdue them. Nevertheless, they were forced to finally yield to the unbeatable Nadrakians. Rodinia spent much of this eon trying to resist and undermine Nadrakian rule over the Milky Way.
The Chicxulub Eon
66 million years ago to 3 million years ago
This eon was the most traumatic in the history of the Rodinians, beginning with their attempted extermination in the Chicxulub Event, and ending with the Blood Harvest of Archnadrakian Balaine. Fearing the Rodinian’s seemingly unlimited growth potential and their warlike nature, a rival of the Rodinians used a killing star on the Earth in an attempt to destroy it. Nadrakian precognition allowed them to intercept and sap enough of its energy to where the Rodinian's defenses effectively stopped it from obliterating or sterilizing the planet. However, the damage was catastrophic and almost wiped out the Paravians living on it at the time. Following this event, the Earth was removed from the physical universe by the Saints Sovereign and hidden within the Weave. The first Emperor of Rodinia arose in response to Chicxulub and led the eight great houses in a war of vengeance.
This age ended with the Blood Harvest, where the Nadrakians became extinct and passed their powers on to the Rodinians, who in turn slew Archnadrakian Balaine to end the war.
The Imperial Eon
3 million years ago to 500 years ago
The most recent eon declared as complete, it spanned the rise of the Rodinian Empire following the death of Archnadrakian Balaine and the extinction of the Nadrakians, and ended with the dissolution of the empire. This eon saw the Rodinians rise as the uncontested sole surviving great civilization, where they tried to carry on the Nadrakian’s legacy of enforcing peace throughout the cosmos.
The Final Eon
500 years ago to present day
Whilst the actual name for this eon hasn’t yet been formally decided, it seems as though it’s quickly and widely become known as the Final Eon due to the discovery of the Billowing. If no solution to the Billowing is found, this eon will last 21 million years before the exponential expansion of the universe destroys all structure in the universe, tearing apart molecules, atoms and atomic nuclei, making the interaction of all sub-atomic particles impossible, and severing the quantum entanglement of all particles thereby destroying space-time. Rodinians, no matter how powerful they have become, will not survive it.
