Han Niu
Niu Han (a.k.a. The Ox)
“Shit!” JR said. “What the hell did your mother feed you?"The Ox is a Tank from China who Joins Robert 's squad the Street Dogs Alpha Squad . He was the most friendly of Robert's Chinese soldiers and the most trusting/trustworthy. He took a liking right away to Robert and was his strongest (pun intended) ally between him and his new soldiers. He also spoke the best English so he began teaching Robert Chinese and served as an interpreter between him and the rest of the squad. He and Mara had friendly competition but he grew to respect her when she beat him in an arm-wrestling match.
“My grandmother,” The Ox grinned, “fed me rice and,” he paused for dramatic effect looking at each of us in turn, “more rice. We ate a lot of rice.”
Mara snickered and even JR managed a smirk. “Must’ve been some rice.”In Memoriam
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Towering over everyone in the squad, Niu looked like he could take down a mech with his bare hands. His massive shoulders stretched the seams of his uniform, and his thick neck seemed almost carved from stone. His calloused hands looked like they’d seen their fair share of fights while his calm, deep-set eyes gave him a surprising air of quiet wisdom. The nickname “The Ox” suited him well—his strength was as undeniable as his steady, grounded presence.
Physical quirks
His appetite is enormous, and he’s always the last to leave the mess hall. He might even carry a small stash of snacks for emergencies.
Occasionally cracks his knuckles or rolls his broad shoulders, especially before engaging in combat or heavy lifting, almost like he’s gearing up for action.
Mental characteristics
Intellectual Characteristics
Rarely speaks unless necessary, but when he does, his words carry weight. He notices small details others might miss, like someone's nervous tic or the faint hum of faulty equipment.
His jokes are rare, deadpan, and perfectly timed, often catching people off guard.
Morality & Philosophy
Has a habit of instinctively stepping between his squadmates and danger, whether it’s incoming fire or an argument. He’s the first to offer a steadying hand when someone stumbles.
He doesn’t say it outright, but his actions scream loyalty. If someone insults his squadmates, he’ll stare them down until they back off—or worse.
Personality Characteristics
Personality Quirks
Traditionalist: Carries small charms or tokens, like a jade pendant or a red string bracelet, for luck and protection. He might occasionally mutter an old proverb under his breath during tense moments.
