Lane France

Fit and muscular. He looks younger than he is due to his werewolf blood, but he also looks older than most werewolves do, presumably due to all the stress.

Lane looks the part of a grizzled old man. His hair is shaggy and unkempt, and his beard is thick and bushy. His eyes flit around erratically, and his leathery face is covered in scars.

Lane is a werewolf, so he has any special abilities a werewolf might have.

Furs and skins that are common in the north are Lane's general attire. He also wears two enchanted black soul metal earrings that symbolize the loss of his wife and daughter at his own hand.

Lane grew up somewhere in the wilds of the north. He was raised as a nomadic hunter-gatherer, and he only ever saw other people once in a great while. His father was a werewolf, but kept that information to himself. Once Lane reached adulthood, he met a woman named Rainy whom he soon married. They had a daughter named Sylvie a short year later. Tragedy struck just a few short years later when a band of Russians came through looking for trouble. Lane, in his rage, transformed into a werewolf for the first time and slaughtered the Russians before turning on his wife and daughter. He awoke to his family dead beside him, but before he could take his own life in his grief, a pack of werewolves came to him. They had heard his howls from the night before and came to investigate. They took him in and trained him how to control his transformations. After a decade or so with this pack, the Moonbloods, Lane became their Alpha. He was the strongest and most willful of the lot, and was very well liked. The Moonbloods, under Lane's command, hunted any Russians who dared cross into northern territory. He didn't know what they wanted. He didn't care. Eventually, he started scaring them away without killing them, if he could help it. In time, the Russians stopped coming, and the Moonbloods were left to wander in relative peace. It was then that Lane made it his mission to help any werewolves unable to control themselves, and he has done that ever since. Years passed, and Thodoc came to Lane and offered him a place in The Redclaws. Said he needed someone with Lane's skillset. It took some convincing, but the Moonbloods eventually decided to join up with Thodoc. Lane became one of his first captains, tasked with building and guarding the west Aegion Fort, where he still resides to this day.

Lane is deeply scarred by what he did to his family. He still has nightmares where he is surrounded by pools of his loved ones blood. He has made it his life's work to train as many werewolves as possible to prevent others from this same fate.

Namely, the saving of any stray werewolves. But he is also motivated to keep Thodoc and Zudas Bastion safe from harm, whether it be at the hand of the Catholics or the Silver Knights or anyone else. The top of his priority list right now is taking down the Silver Knights.

Lane can be aggressive and off-putting, but he is really quite friendly and helpful. He loves hunting and is often quick to charge into battle. He switches between playful, fun-loving dog mode to serious, hardened warrior mode on a dime. He knows which situations call for which attitude, and he bears himself responsibly when he needs to. He sniffs around a lot, and is prone to cursing vehemently.
