Like most religions the Lutam also have a story about the creation of the rainbow. They belive that when Karom first saw the humans he had created he obsesed over the beauty of emotions. So much so that he decidet to bestow emotions on to the Gods as well. But he also feard war amongst the Gods if he gave them envy or anger. So he decidet to only give them good emotions, like happynes and love. For a while every thing was good. He watched the humans develop and his own children grow up. one day he decidet that he was tired, and that it was time for him to lay down his crown and leve the fate of the world in the hands of the next genaration. So he called for his children. But once he saw theire indiference to his creation he grew wary, he knew that they could not undersand the humans trubles for they had never known suffering. He pitied them for not being able to see the beauty in them that he saw. So he made the decision to give all of his children one negativ emotion. To his oldest, Trom, he gave anger. To his seconed, Lu, he gave fear. To his youngest, Verto, he gave envy and to his third child, Nari his only daughter, he gave sadnes. As soon as Karom had finished his speche, the palace fell into chaos.
Tarom was the first to leave, he stormt out of the door and jumpt down to the mountains where he wreaked havoc untill he fell aslep of exhaustion.
Lu flew out of a window and hid himself in the sky between the clouds where nothing could reach him.
Verto snuck into the basement and locked himself in the vault.
Nari was the only one who stayed, at first Karom was confused. He had not expected her to take it this much better then her brothers, but after a while he understod that she hadn't. After that day Nari fell silent, she spoke not a single word for three years. Untill one day she was taking a walk through the gardens and saw a blue butterfly, it was so beautifull that she could not take her eyes of it as she walked, but once the butterfly had left her sight she looked down and noticed that in her distracted state she had stepped on an ant. In that moment all the sadnes she had suppressed for the past years flooded over her. She climed to the top of the highest tree and started crying so hartbreakingly that the whole world cryied with her. When Lu, looking down from the sky, saw his twin sister in such despair, he wanted nothing more than to comfort her. But he was to scared to leave the safety of the sky to go to her, so remembering Naris love for beauty he had and idee. He paintet the sky with the most beautifull colores he could find. And when Nari saw the painting her brother had created for her she smiled. yet She kept crying for another three days. When she had finished crying and left the tree she had understod her fathers actions, as she was now able to look at the humans and see what her father had seen. So she whent to tell Karom what she had realised. Karom was very pleased with his daugter and decided that she had learned her lessons. He wanted to take away Naris sadnes but she refused, she had learned to view her own sadnes as beautifull, unplesent perhaps but beautifull nonetheless.
Now every time Naris sadnes overwhelms her, Lu paints the sky in the prettiest colors. That is what the humans call Rainbow
