Vernean Moose

Cervalces verneani

Although not a true moose, but a sister genus Cervalces, the Vernean Moose is wide spread throughout Titanios but most common in the cold eastern marshes and bogs. Vernean Moose bulls stands 2.5 meters at the shoulder and possesses antlers 3 meters across. These antlers are used like any other Cervid, to fight for mating rights and fend off predators, they however are kept year round and it is common for cows to grow them as well, albeit smaller than bulls. The sound of Vernean moose sharpening their antlers against rocks and trees is a fairly common sound of the forests.

The diet of these Cervids is incredible varied, but they have a preference for aquatic plants. Being an adept swimmer like their surface counterparts, the Vernean moose wades in the shallows of lakes and bogs, leaving the deeper water for the gomphotheres, and some coastal populations even dive into the ocean, although this comes with its own risks. The natural aggression coupled with its size and weaponry, the Vernean moose is only on the menu for the largest of carnivores, however calves and smaller females can be preyed upon by other predators.
