Anjanath
Anjanath tyranna
Anjanath tyranna (Anjanath) is a species of dracosaurian resembling the tyrannosaurs it competes with. Males reach around 12 meters in length and females as big as 15 meters. Both sexes possess nasal structures and pseudo-wing structures on their hips. The back, tail, shoulders and neck are covered in a short but thick coat of pycnofibers, the purpose of this coat is unknown although it is theorized to be a form of fireproofing.
Anjanath are found in the northern regions of Lemuria, stalking the jungles. Hunting in the thick foliage, they avoid competition with the other many large predators. Anjanath prefer to hunt lumbering prey such as sauropods and hadrosaurs. Like many other dragons, Anjanath possess special sacs in their throat that contain flammable gases which are used to breathe fire out of both the mouth and nasal.
