Alpine Parrotlet

The Alpine Parrotlet as the name suggests is a small mountain dwelling parrot closely related to the parrotlets of South America. During the plentiful summer months, the alpine parrotlets gather in huge flocks in the mountains feeding on the seeds of a species of bluegrass until the winter months render the mountains inhospitable. During the winter, these tiny parrots migrate west to the temperate forests to escape the worst of the cold. Here they feed on nuts and other tree seeds, including a species of monkey puzzle tree, which they are a main seed dispenser of.

The aggressive nature of surface parrotlets is also found in this species if not heightened. Due to the plethora of small aerial mesopredators, such as the Winter Fae Wyvern, alpine parrotlets are quick to swarm said predators the moment they are spotted and force them away.
