Athena is an extremely outgoing and friendly woman. She is often found chatting up the nearest stranger with her stories of battle. However, she is also an extremely protective goddess. This often gives the impression of her being aggressive.
She became highly protective of a follower of hers, Medusa, when she was attacked by a god that has a strange disdain for Athena. In response to this attack, Athena gave Medusa the ability to turn those identifying or aligning with the masculine into stone. She also vowed to give her life for Medusa is she ever to be attacked again.
This sparked an unbreakable bond between the two. This bond soon extended to a fellow goddess, Hecate, when Medusa took her in during a time of need. The three are almost never seen without the others. However, if a follower is only devoted to one of the trio, the other two will step back and allow that woman to shine.
In her early life, Athena was most often seen at her brother Ares' side in battle. Gaining the two the titles of God and Goddess of war respectively. Athena still aids her brother from time to time, however, she is now more focused on her closest friends, just as Ares is more focused on his wife, Aphrodite.
