The curse of Jack the Ripper returns to kill Rex Murphy. Rex Murphy gathers some kids who are the new generation of heroes and stop Jack the Ripper once and for all
The Era of Heroes – 2038 AD The world has irrevocably changed since the events of Y2K. The prophecy that Annie the Witch foresaw has come to pass. The Era of Heroes has arrived. On January 1st, 2000, at exactly 0:01 AM, babies with extraordinary abilities were born, possessing powers from myth and legend. Now, 38 years later, in 2038, the world is filled with these gifted individuals. However, in the shadows of this new era, old evils still linger. It has been fifty years since Rex Murphy, once a legendary supernatural hunter, sealed the curse of Jack the Ripper. The battle was over, or so he thought. But now, the time has come for Rex to confront the nightmare once again. A faceless man appears in Rex’s home, bearing a letter from The Host, a high-ranking member of the original Roswell Foundation. The letter delivers grim news: Blake Newman, Detective Rage, Finley Fenix, and Alex Wulf have all been killed by Jack the Ripper. Despite the grim message, Rex refuses to get involved. He has put the horrors of Jack’s curse behind him, determined to live in peace. But the messenger has more news. Before Katie Creed (formerly Katie Rogers, and Katie McGee) died, she wrote a desperate plea: “Save my granddaughter”, scrawled in her own blood, signing her name as Katie Rogers. Her granddaughter, Caitlyn Creed, has vanished, and all evidence points to Jack’s return. Rex’s refusal to remain in the past is challenged when he learns that John Meyers’ grandson, Jordan Meyers, Alex Wulf’s son, Jack Wulf, and Finley Fenix’s son, Zeke Tremblay are still alive. They are likely to be Jack’s next victims. Reluctantly, Rex decides to track them down and warn them. He embarks on a journey across the United States, searching for the children who are the key to stopping Jack once again. The group Rex gathers — himself, Jack Wulf (the psionic warrior), Zeke Tremblay (the Johnny), Jordan Meyers, and Jackson Lowe (two powerful will users) — unites to stop Jack’s resurrection and prevent another wave of terror. Their quest leads them to London, where they believe Jack has taken refuge. Upon their arrival, they soon discover that Jack has gained a new power, one that threatens to unravel the very fabric of reality. As they get closer to their goal, strange calamities unfold around them, and the suffering of thousands escalates. Jack's influence over the world has grown stronger, and the stakes are higher than ever. When they finally confront Jack, they find him waiting for them, with Caitlyn Creed held hostage. Jack, with his newfound power, traps the group in a twisted, time-altering spell that sends them all back to London, 1988 — the night Jack first began his reign of terror. Separated, they must navigate the unfamiliar landscape of a past filled with darkness and danger. Before Rex and the others could react, Jack, with a sudden surge of his newfound abilities, unleashed a time-altering spell. The world around them buckled and cracked, and in a flash of dark energy, they were sent back to London, 1988 — the night Jack had first begun his reign of terror as the group was now separated. For Rex, this was his moment of reckoning. The years had not been kind to him. His body, once a finely tuned instrument of supernatural combat, had begun to betray him. The toll of time, of battles fought and won, had made him older, slower, and far less capable than he once was. This was not the warrior who had sealed the curse of Jack the Ripper all those years ago. Jack knew this. He could sense Rex’s weakening, the frailty of his aging body. With the speed and precision of a predator, Jack closed in on Rex, who struggled to keep up. The fight was one-sided. Rex’s movements were sluggish, his reflexes dull compared to the unnatural speed of Jack, who appeared like a blur of darkness, striking relentlessly. “Still trying to fight, old man?” Jack’s voice echoed, mocking Rex’s every effort. “You sealed me once, but that was a lifetime ago. You can’t outrun your age.” Rex was relentless, but the odds were not in his favor. The air around them seemed to crackle with dark energy, the ritual circle Jack had placed Rex in tightening like a noose. With a final, brutal strike, Jack slammed Rex into the ground, immobilizing him with a dagger in his stomach. The weight of the curse was upon Rex now. He knew it, and Jack knew it. As Rex lay there, struggling to breathe, he could feel the ritual begin. Jack’s power surged through the circle, and the world around him darkened. In his final moments, Rex had a vision — a fleeting image of Katie, her face full of sorrow and regret. Tell him that it’ll be okay. Rex once again became Murphy, the boy he swore to leave behind and cried. Rex knew how to stop Jack but at this moment of clarity was all he needed to push the doubts aside. Murphy Rogers only beat Jack the Ripper because he got too cocky. The only way to stop Jack was to give the next generation the same chance he had, to make him think he had won. Rex’s instincts started to kick in, a million thoughts about how to escape raced through his mind but only one thought concurred the rest, Let Jack believe he won. “I’ve fought enough,” Rex thought, his mind steadying on all the loved ones he lost. “I’m ready to go home…” With his final breath, Rex allowed himself to fall into the ritual's trap. His sacrifice would enable Jack to gain control of The Tower, the powerful interdimensional library that had existed outside the normal flow of time and space. The Tower contained all knowledge, all written history, and every recorded event that had ever existed. Whoever controlled the Tower had dominion over all knowledge — and with it, the ability to reshape reality itself. By sacrificing himself, Rex allowed Jack to access the Tower’s vast power, unknowingly sealing his own fate. Jack, now invincible, emerged from the ritual circle, his form radiating dark energy. He was more powerful than ever before, capable of manipulating reality and causing chaos on an unimaginable scale. But Jack had made one fatal mistake: He underestimated the power of Rex’s final strategy. Though Jack now wielded the Tower's immense abilities, there was one thing he had not accounted for — the shadow figure that had been manipulating his newfound power. The heroes, realizing the connection between Jack and this shadowy figure, launched a daring final assault. By severing the shadow’s link to Jack, they weakened his invincibility. This vulnerability, however fleeting, gave them the opportunity to strike. With the shadow figure sharing damage with Jack, Jack's power faltered. His newfound control over time and reality began to slip, and with it, so did his invincibility. The heroes converged, and with combined force, they began to wear down Jack, who was now mortal once again. In the heat of the final battle against Jack, the heroes’ combined efforts weaken the shadowy figure and ultimately bring down the terror Jack has unleashed. The Tower's influence begins to wane as Jack loses control over it, but the struggle isn't over yet. In the chaos of the battle, Jordan Myers, one of the last remaining heroes, is critically injured. He takes a devastating blow from Jack, his body battered and broken, on the brink of death. With his life hanging in the balance, Jordan’s consciousness flickers. He can feel the cold touch of death creeping closer, but in that moment of despair, his hand instinctively reaches for the small artifact he’s carried with him — a Time Stone. The Time Stone is an ancient relic that possesses the ability to manipulate time itself, allowing its wielder to reverse or accelerate time in specific ways. It is a rare and powerful object, one that had been entrusted to Jordan for safekeeping. As his life slips away, Jordan, through sheer force of will, channels the power of the Time Stone. He focuses on his memories of the fight, his injuries, and the exact moment before he was struck. His thoughts become a blur of determination — “I won’t die here. Not now.” As the light in his eyes fades, his Will, Slo Mo, grabs the Time Stone and activates in his grasp, glowing brightly with otherworldly energy. Time itself bends to Jordan's Will. His battered body, broken and frail, begins to reverse its injuries. His muscles and bones shift back into place, the cuts and bruises fading as though they never existed. The wound that would have killed him closes, and the energy that surged through his veins reverses, restoring him to the state he was in before the fatal strike. When Jordan’s eyes open again, he is lying on the ground, whole and untouched by the battle’s devastation. The Time Stone’s power has worked and the stone crumbles to dust. The other heroes look on in disbelief as they witness the impossible. However, the moment doesn’t last long as they now have to come to terms with the world around them. Though Jordan has been spared, the final defeat of Jack the Ripper, combined with the collapse of his influence over the Tower, and the death of Rex Murphy, signals the end of their long struggle. The calamities cease, the shadow figure is vanquished, and Jack’s curse is broken forever. The Book then gives them a letter from Rex saying his goodbyes in case his death was to happen. The battle is won, but the toll it took on the heroes is undeniable. The victory, hard-won and bittersweet, has come at great cost. The group has managed to stop the dark reign of Jack once and for all but Londan was in shambles. 198,721 people were affected by Jack’s calamities and 65,578 of them died quickly or later due to medical complications. Among the names remembered for this tragedy are Alex Wulf, age 64, Blake Newman, age 64 Detective Rage, age 67, Finley Fenix, age 65, Kattie Mcgee, age 68, and Rex Murphy age 68
