Symbiote: Phage
Symbiote, Phage: The character has bonded with the known Venom symbiote: Phage. A symbiote spawned from Venom by the Life Foundation. When a character bonds with such a symbiote, they go up two ranks and gain the listed traits and powers, which must be picked for the powers that the ranks give.
Traits: Anathema: Extreme Heat/Extreme Sonics/Anti-Venom, Berserker, Symbiotic Spider-Blinder, Bloodthirsty.
Powers: Disguise, Environmental Protection, Healing Factor, Mighty 1, Webcasting, Wallcrawling.
SYMBIOTE POWERS
Symbiotes have the following powers that work only on someone to whom they are bonded:
- Command
- Cure-All
- Edit Memory
- Memory Blip
- Orders
- Telepathic Link
- Telepathic Possession
Assume the symbiote’s Logic and Ego are equal to that of their host. When a host is asleep, they are considered to have 0 Focus with respect to their bonded symbiote, allowing the symbiote to use many powers on the host that would normally require the target to be at 0 Focus.
Some symbiotes take over their host whenever they can, but they are sneaky about it, especially at the start, before the host might even know what’s happening. When the Venom symbiote first bonded with Spider-Man (Peter Parker), it didn’t let Parker know it was anything more than a high-tech costume. Instead, it waited until he was asleep and then took his body out for a ride by using Telepathic Possession on him.
If everything goes well with such a possession, the symbiote returns the host to their bed before they wake up, and the host never realizes anything unusual happened. However, the host hasn’t gotten any proper rest, so they are considered exhausted, just as if they had been awake the entire time.
Symbiotes have also been known to edit their host’s memories or even falsify memories. This is often easier than trying to win an argument with a stubborn host.
