Onidai
PERSONAL HISTORY
Born both blind and penniless, Onidai took up martial arts at a young age to survive. He found that he had a natural talent for fighting, and soon enough he had drawn the attention and mentorship of the mystic martial arts master Nami (A.K.A. the Ancient One). The next several decades of Onidai’s life were spent in the shadows, during which he became the leader of the Tengu, an elite organization of ninjas created to counter the insidious members of the Yukiya Clan.
Onidai’s life was full of thrills and adventures, but as he got older, life in the shadows started to wear on him. He took a young blind boy named Steven Collins under his wing to train as his heir. He taught the boy to fight and to develop his radar-like senses, which compensated for his blindness. Within a few years, Collins’ abilities began to rival Onidai’s.
As the super hero Night Daemon, Collins uses the training Onidai gave him for the betterment of humanity. Onidai died years ago, saving Night Daemon and Katushka from the Yukiya ninja. He has returned to life occasionally since.
