NEW YORK

New York is one of the great cities of the world—but it’s also one of the epicentres of super-hero (and super-villain) activity. One of Covert Alpha main bases is there, and the city is also home to the Fabulous Four and many more of the world’s iconic super heroes like Shield Spider (Peter Rogers), Mr. Crowley (Jonathon Crowley) and, of course, the Marvels. Moving through Manhattan from north to south, you find Shatterproof (Jamal Archer) and Amber Monroe in Harlem; Night Daemon (Steven Collins), Bauble (Alison Heart) and the Deleter (Mason Ford) in Hell’s Kitchen; and heroes such as Eventide (Dominic King) and the current Iron Fist, Lady Chi (Janice Teal) roaming the city. Marvel Tower looms over Midtown, not far from the Baker Building, and Mr. Crowley’s Sotho Institute of Paranormal Research is downtown on Greenwich Village’s famed Bleecker Street. Keep going downtown to find Yancy Street, the childhood home of the Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Gem (Grant James). Out in other boroughs, Queens is the original home of Peter Rogers, while heroes including Longbow (Emmet Jarrod) grew up in Brooklyn.

The density of super heroes—not to mention the presence of Covert Alpha—puts the Big Apple squarely in the crosshairs of the world’s villains, and you find plenty of them in the five boroughs as well, from homegrown threats like the Vandal (Craig Masters), Dr. Atic (Lou N Atic) and the Viridian Witch (Monica Sanders) to threats such as Captain Skrull (Sa'van'xa), the Yukiya Clan and just about any other diabolical consortium you can think of. New York has been flooded by King Aquar the Sub-Mariner, threatened by Sister Ruin (Jessica Crowley), besieged by Professor Genesis (Noah Genesis), attacked by the Leviathan, nearly hurled into the sun by the Super Sorceress (Vanda Zar), laid waste by Seethe (Brian Bradley), invaded by Alien: Kree, partially taken over by Red Knave (Richard Walsh) during his brief stint as the Monster King…you get the idea.

Both super heroes and villains seem to think of New York the same way: If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. This makes the Big Apple an especially rich environment for all kinds of new adventures.
