John Symond
PERSONAL HISTORY
Born with a rare skin condition and forced into the role of circus freak, John Symond vowed that one day he would be the most powerful man in the New York City of Earth 530. Hiding his deformity behind a sophisticated mask, he spent the next several decades rising to the top of the city’s underworld, where his complete ruthlessness and his willingness to prey on others earned him the nickname the Shark.
During his rise as CEO of the Particule Research Foundation, Symond arranged for a number of labour organizers to be brutally killed. In this 'accident' several Gamma Mutates were unwittingly created including one, Seethe (Brian Bradley). Years later, after Bradley gained some measure of control over Seethe, he dedicated his life to Symond's downfall.
Eventually, Brian Bradley dredged up enough evidence of Symond’s wrongdoing to put the man away for good. He raided the villain’s compound and, in the process, accidentally knocked Symond’s lieutenant B.G.H. (Francoise De Villiers) into a pit of spiders. He was just about to have his revenge on Symond when De Villiers escaped from the pit and—in a fit of madness—dragged Symond into a nearby river, presumably killing them both.
