Vijay Kohlu was once an ordinary teenager. Then his mutant powers kicked in.
Practically overnight, his entire appearance changed. His hands and feet curled into talons, and feathers began to sprout all over his body. His skin took on a more wrinkled and pinkish tone, and his bones shrank and hollowed.
Unable to continue a normal life in human society, Egret fled from home and into the welcoming arms of Professor D’s Mutation Research Facility. It was at this school that he met Elspeth Paige, a girl with insectoid powers mirroring his own. They began a whirlwind romance of the highest order. Within a year, they had married and had five kids.
Egret and Elspeth have both acted as super heroes from time to time, more out of necessity than a desire to change the world. Neither of them has a particular desire to be part of a battle team, preferring to concentrate on raising their children instead.
