Deborah Pendleton
PERSONAL HISTORY
After her parents were killed in a senseless bombing, Deborah Pendleton (The Contessa) joined Covert Alpha and dedicated the rest of her life to preventing similar tragedies. Or at least, that was the cover story. In truth, both Pendleton and her supposed parents were agents of an ancient Russian spy cell called Tsarina, and she only joined Covert Alpha to ensure that the organization never laid hands on any of Tsarina’s world-shattering technology.
Pendleton spent years with Covert Alpha and became not only one of its best agents but also the on-and-off lover of its director, Alice Grant. She was even named director herself during a brief period when Grant was thought to be dead. She developed a real affection for Covert Alpha, but when Leviathan uncovered Tsarina technology, she felt that she had no choice but to defect and become the new Lady Leviathan.
Grant refused to accept this, and with the help of her best agents, she defeated Leviathan and dismantled Tsarina. Adrift for the first time in her life, Pendleton disappeared.
Recently, a Life-Model Decoy of Pendleton joined the new incarnation of the Phenomes led by the Quickfire (Edward 'Ed' Ross).
