PERSONAL HISTORY
As the decades-long head of one of the most powerful Faxsces families on the East Coast, Aldo Rossetti had more experience dealing with crimefighters—both super and non-super—than almost anybody else on the planet. He was so vital—not just to the operations of his family, but to all organized crime—that his people set out to ensure that he would never die. They went on a mission to obtain an elixir of eternal life, and after that failed, they put into place another, less mystical contingency plan.
When Rossetti was eventually struck down by the Deleter and Lynx , his people took him apart and put him back together in a top-of-the-line cybernetic body. Now more robot than man, Rossetti was stolen and reprogrammed into a mindless killing machine by his greatest rival: the Kingpin. Although he later regained his senses, this brief absence allowed for the Kingpin to conquer much of Rossetti’s territory, cementing his place as an all-encompassing leader of organized crime.
Though their power continues to diminish, Abacus and the Rossetti family have managed to linger. They had a chance at regaining some of their lost glory during the gang war that recently overtook most of New York City, but along with the rest of the old-timers, Abacus ultimately lost the conflict to Mayor Ryan’s faction, the Tuatha.
