Al-Murad

Demographics: Due to Al- Murad being a trade center, it has a rich and varied populace. However those species that are directly linked to the Egyptian pantheon such as demigods are held in higher regard. Tabaxi and other feline species are tolerated and often treated with disdain due to the shared trauma of lelouch the all seeing   Services & Infrastructure: While services such as medicine, the library and taverns are good quality, the Artisans market are where Al-Murad thrives. The craft in Al-Murad is some of the best Barista has to offer, perhaps even the galaxy. Trades include blacksmithing, glassblowing, leatherworking and much more. As with the rest of New Egyptian society, each part of the infrastructure is governed and worked by the followers of the Egyptian god that most pertains to that part of the economy and infrastructure.   Governance & Politics: Al-Murad is governed by a Theocratic bureaucracy and Satrapy who follow the eniad or Egyptian pantheon of gods. Each part of society is governed by the devotees and priests of a particular god of that pantheon. The leadership of Al-Murad and New Egypt follow Ra, the god of the sun and leader of the pantheon. The High priest of Al-Murad is Joba, a solar genasi woman who used to be human but was blessed by Ra and became a Solar priest. Law enforcement is carried out by the Hands of Khonshu, who are the followers of Khonshu, their enforcement of the laws are harsh.     Purpose & Economy: As Al-Murad is a port town its main purpose is trade. Much of the economy is based upon craft and trading with other factions and countries from the planet and the rest of the galaxy. It was created by it's previous rulers to be a trade center and pit stop before the great temple of lelouch the all-seeing   Culture & History: As a port town and hub of communication and trade, Al-murad has a rich and varied culture from everywhere, although still very much a religious town centered around the Egyptian pantheon. It has a large culture of merchants and artisans of various trades who make up the majority of the population. Something strange about Al-Murad is the lack of cats and worship of them which is common in the rest of New Egypt. This is because of a linked trauma of a dictatorship run by the devotees of the evil god of cats and the mind, lelouch the all seeing. There is graffiti all over town depicting lelouch and cats crossed out and sundered.     Notable Locations: The three most notable locations are the market square, library and the ancient Lelouch temple.
  • The temple of Thoth, which is also an open air library holds an incredible number of tomes, books and various forms of knowledge. Al-Murad also has it's own collection of ships that they send out to trade with other settlements elsewhere on the planet or settlements not on the planet. It also has a healthy trade relationship with the settlements that are more inland.   Points of Interest:
