Global Resistance Movement Manifesto

The Global Resistance Movement Manifesto (GRM Manifesto) is a document written by Mason Burke in 2052, outlining the ideological goals of the terrorist group called the Global Resistance Movement. The manifesto was a combination of older digital video recordings, blogposts, written statements, and websites that were combined into a single multimedia package by Mason Burke in 2052.

The manifesto begins with a video statement by Burke, wearing a plate carrier and hawaiian shirt, who is flanked by two masked individuals, one male and one female, wearing similar clothing. Burke states the goals of the Global Resistance Movement, namely the deposition of the ruling elites of western society, the dismantling of the capitalist system, and the elimination of automation technologies (he specifies generative artificial intelligence and generic "workplace automation"). After supporting his statement with a number of statistics and quotes from scientists, historians, and philosphers, the video cuts to a new scene. A blindfolded prisoner, identified to be the CEO of Western Software Systems, is forced to kneel by the two masked individuals, and then shot in the back of the head by Burke. Following this, the video ends.

Encrypted data within the video leads to a number of (now taken-down) dark web sites that elaborate on the ideology of the Global Resistance Movement. These sites encourage disaffected individuals to commit lone-wolf terrorist attacks, providing information and schematics on creating improvised weapons, and resources for paramilitary training. Many of these websites were later secretly taken over by law enforcement agencies like the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, and Interpol, who tracked site visitors as potential GRM members.
