Scavengers
The Scavengers, commonly known as "Scavs," are a faction of post-war survivors who have adapted to life in the Infested wasteland of Chernarus. Unlike more organized groups, the Scavs operate in loosely connected bands, each driven by the need to survive in a harsh and unpredictable environment. Their primary means of survival include hunting, trading, and scavenging the remnants of the old world.
Lifestyle and Activities
The Scavs have embraced a nomadic lifestyle, constantly on the move to avoid threats and seek out valuable resources. They are expert scavengers, able to repurpose almost anything they find into something useful, whether it be weapons, tools, or trade goods. Their adaptability and resourcefulness have made them adept at surviving where others might fail.
While not as skilled in combat as professional Mercenaries, the Scavs are known to take on various odd jobs to sustain themselves. These include pathfinding through dangerous territories, escorting travelers or convoys, gathering intelligence, and locating rare artifacts. However, their reliability in combat-oriented tasks is often questioned, as their focus tends to be on survival and profit rather than fighting.
Society and Organization
Scavs are typically organized into small, tight-knit groups, with leadership often based on experience and survival skills rather than formal hierarchies. Trust within these groups is crucial, as they rely heavily on each other for protection and resource sharing. While Scavs generally prefer to avoid direct conflict, they are not above using deception or ambush tactics if necessary to defend themselves or their territory.
Reputation
The Scavs have a mixed reputation in the wasteland. On one hand, they are valued for their knowledge of the land, their ability to find and repurpose resources, and their willingness to take on risky tasks for the right price. On the other hand, their opportunistic nature and lack of formal allegiance make them unpredictable allies, and some view them as little more than opportunistic looters.
