Säartak (Saur-tock)

"Säartak is a spirit commonly worshipped in the Yama Kor Province of the Xa'a Empire in the far east. Säartak has very little reach outside of Yama Kor, but is revered by the native population within. He preaches peace, love and the pursuit of inner wisdom. This side of Säartak's dogma is highly pushed by Xa'a, leaving the natives of Yama Kor ripe for rule. They forget the fury he showed in Bhagavaan Ka."

  Säartak was born in the Emerald Age in Yama Kor, most commonly accepted within the then capital city of Vishaal. Säartak led a rough childhood, and quickly picked up arms against the Xa'a Empire during their first invasion of the subcontinent. Quickly rising the ranks as a hero, he was named the Raj of Vishaal, and became a leader amongst his people. He led them for over a century, fighting back several other small invasions by their northern neighbors.
  The century of war he oversaw however changed his people from their peace-loving nature to ferocious warriors, and Säartak did not like what he saw. He abdicated his position, retreating into the west to meditate on the issue. When he emerged decades later, he was wiser, and began preaching his dogma of peace through strength. Säartak said that his people must find their strength through inner peace, knowledge and wisdom instead of through strength of arms, and that only then could they truly be free. There was fierce resistance to this teaching, and the other leaders of Yama Kor banished him from their realm. Säartak refused to abandon his fellows however, and travelled hidden amongst the smallfolk, preaching his New Way.
  The next invasion by Xa'a was a great one, and a great fleet of ships landed on the east of Yama Kor carrying many thousands of soldiers. Vishaal was besieged, and the people cried out for aid. Säartak answered. Sacrificing himself, he cast a spell so powerful that it destroyed the fleet and most of the army, leading his people to victory. Since his martyrdom Säartak has become widely worshipped amongst the Säartan, gaining power as a Greater Spirit. He has consistently protected his people ever since, most notably against the invasion of the Xaro'Dei at Bhagavaan Ka.

  The Silent Sages- The Silent Sages are an organization dedicated to the veneration of Säartak and his teachings. Their first priority is the pursuit of inner peace, wisdom and enlightenment, which Säartak teaches can only be achieved through self-reflection. Each Sage takes a vow of silence upon joining the organization, promising not to speak until he or she has achieved true enlightenment. The Silent Sages are the caretakers of Yama Kor, caring for the populace as healers, teachers and spiritual leaders. They are the among the most honored in the society of Yama Kor.
