Bahamut (Bah-hahm-utt)
The Golden Dragon, The Golden One
"A column of radiant flames ravaged the gates of Rancor, and thousand of corpses fell yet again into the deep as the pillars cracked, revealing a breach in the defenses. The golden dragon flew swiftly into the breach, and the Nether Legion, as always, followed."Sineas YueA Study of the Infernal Crusade
Born from the decaying flesh of Vraekar himself during The Godswar, Bahamut is one of the youngest of the Elder Gods. Known as the Golden Dragon or the Golden One, Bahamut has been a constant presence on the battlefields of the Nether Abyss against The Shadow.
Bahamut fought valiantly in the Godswar alongside his brothers Tisrendel and Helmvor alongside his twin sister Tishdakalar. Bahamut gained a reputation as a powerful force on the battlefield, and once he reached full maturity evoked memories of his father in strength and battlefield prowess.
Bahamut continued to fight after the passing of his aunt Arishanne, alongside his brothers Tisrendel and Bahamut, and when it came time to name a new leader of The Light, it was Bahamut who brokered the truce between his brothers that allowed the High Council of Sanctum to rule, ensuring peace. It was during this time that Bahamut created the Dragonborn, the last of the Elder Races in the late portion of the Emerald Age, and took over day-to-day management of the conflict in the Nether Abyss. Also during the Emerald Age it was a young Bahamut who led the deep incursion into enemy territory that saw his twin sister Tishdakalar lost to the Shadow, a fact he would never forgive himself for.
During the Age of Antiquity Bahamut continued his struggle in the Nether Abyss against the darkness, but he did not forget about his people. Hunted savagely by the dragons of Tishdakalar, Bahamut encouraged his followers to found the Order of the Golden Dragon, and began the High Hunt. This saw a massive campaign waged on Earedar against dragonkind, seeing them flee the region surrounding the Inner Sea and the Golden and Silver dragons eradicated from Earedar.
During the Age of Shadows Bahamut fought alongside Araneos, Ma'liki and Tinareth in the Nether Abyss, eventually laying siege to the gates of Rancor itself. It was Bahamut here who so savagely defeated Djzargo and the forces of Hell that he was able to lead several incursions into the First Layer of Rancor, becoming the first being aligned with the Light to do so in an Age. Since the end of this conflict Bahamut has spent his time during the Age of Storms leading The Nether Legion against the forces of Shadow, brutalizing them on the battlefield.
