Urgagon Nomads (Eur-Gah-Gon)
The Urgagon Nomads are Limrod nomads that wander throughout Earck, mainly living off of the land in the Wilds, and occasionally coming lower past the Snow-top mountains. These nomads are the largest nomad group, containing several whole tribes within itself.
Naming Traditions
Family names
Sugspear, Carver, Jahkshead, and Greathorn are just a few of the family names that are used by the Urgagon Nomads. Last names are usually a representation of what your family has done, for example, if your family had been fishers for many generations, they would quite possibly take the name of Fisher or Nettbone. (One punishment used among these tribes is that if you commit a severe crime such as robbery, or murder, your last name will be changed to the crime you committed.)
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The Urgagon Nomads primarily speak Northern Tyun, with slight variations from most speakers due to their tendency to pick up bits and pieces from other languages.
Shared customary codes and values
Nature is of very high value to their culture, as they live off of it every day. They rarely use coin, but prefer to trade with each other and outside cultures, trading fruit for wood, seeds for nails, and skins for tools. The value of these items are not set, but completely depend on how much the other person is willing to give for them.
Common Dress code
Most members of this ethnicity wear thick skins of Grkwaggers , morps and other animals with thick fur to protect from the cold, as well as various bits of clothing from towns.
Art & Architecture
Often this group will carve beautiful wooden staves, bows and tools, carving many of their thoughts onto them. These are worth much and are considered beautiful works of art.
Coming of Age Rites
Upon coming of age young adults are allowed to participate in trading, hunting and any other wealth-producing trade.
Funerary and Memorial customs
When a member of a tribe in this ethnicity dies, it is custom to bury them by a tree with their name carved into the bark. This allows the dead's spirit to be infused with the tree and rest.
Common Myths and Legends
The myth of Hodei's Affliction and the Granite Giants are two common myths among the Urgagon nomads and most smaller villages.
