House Pullus as Decadent Tyrants: Maradia frames House Pullus as corrupt rulers who had grown soft and decadent, lining their own coffers while the people suffered under piracy, famine, and inland raids. She paints them as arrogant aristocrats detached from the struggles of everyday folk, more concerned with lavish banquets than keeping Pullitierra safe.
A Forgotten Daughter of the City: Instead of admitting her illegitimacy and exile, Maradia claims she was a daughter of Pullitierra who had been driven away by jealous nobles because she “spoke truths they feared.” She now positions her return as destiny — the prodigal daughter rising from the ashes of neglect to claim the mantle her kin failed to bear.
Champion of Justice: She justifies her coup as the correction of injustice. Her propaganda declares that she overthrew the Pullus because they were too weak to defend the city, and their allies (including the Valeides) were parasites who bled merchants and labourers dry. By cutting them down, she "freed" Pullitierra from oppression.
Protector of the People: Maradia emphasizes law, order, and security. The Ironclads patrol the streets not as mercenaries in her pay, but as guardians of the peace, “keeping chaos at bay.” She claims to have restored trade and commerce, ensuring Pullitierra’s prosperity in a world threatened by bandits, monsters, and foreign rivals.
The Tide’s Chosen: Maradia’s speeches lean heavily into oceanic destiny metaphors: that Pullitierra is a city of tides, and she is the one chosen to guide its people through storms into calm waters. To her loyalists, she is not merely a ruler, but a living embodiment of fate’s inevitability.
