Kadmaxis overview

The Town of Kadmaxis

The town of Kadmaxis is located just north of Merissia. It is something of a market town and hub for the eastern part of the colony of Boreia. The surrounding areas are fertile and there are a fair few farms in the surrounding area. To the east the forest grows thicker and thicker.

Over the years there have been difficulties between the settlers and the tribes (mostly Human, Bugbear and Aldaron) who are opposed to the colony’s eastward expansion into the forest which they regard as sacrosanct. Following recent developments, General Atreus has ordered no further expansion to the east of Kadmaxis. In return, a number of the more prominent bugbear and human tribes have agreed to accept the town and the existing farms, as long as there is no further expansion intp the Ündsenoin.

The town is also near some hills that prospectors are very positive about mining, feeling that there are promising signs of usable quantities of iron ore.

The Legion is hopeful that improved relations with the tribes of the Ündsenoin may lead to an increase in trade and this swell the coffers of the Colony.

  Authority in Kadmaxis

The Town is governed by a council of three, Lord Quintus Telamide ap Kadmeid, Rhakios Oresteid (elected head of the     merchant’s guild) and             Centurion Erethalia Mucia (or her proxy if duty takes her away).

In reality, much of the decision making is done by       Centurion Mucia and the merchant’s guild, however, young Quintus is  learning the art of leading and   governing against a time that it may be needed.

 The Eagle Century

Centurion Mucia leads the Eagle century, this century has traditionallly provided scouting and skirmishing for the legion.

The century has a larger than normal proportion of     Elenion and Melesse legionaries, where their keen senses are particularly useful.

Since the founding of the        colony, the Eagle century has often been posted to the north of the colony as the elenion and       melesse heritage of many of its members offers some protection against the so called ‘Ice-bound Slumber’ that can be induced by white dragons.
