Fate-linked magic items
Magic Items linking to Fateforged individuals - referenced throughout history that these individuals possessed items that had a piece of their essence within them and grew in power as the individual's links to Fate and the Tale of Eana strengthens (the more they influenced the world, the more powerful the item becomes).
They all need certain ingredients - A gemstone is included in each instance as an essential ingredient in the creation of any Fate-lInked item.
Every Maker's Key is a Fate-linked item, but not every Fate-linked item is a Maker's Key.
Some magic items need specific ingredients to make them - the Fate-linked ones are less 'predictable' because of their links to the Fate-touched.
Although the type of item and their properties have been many and varied, creation of fate-linked items requires a tie to a fate-linked person and to the Moon Eternity. This is achieved by incorporating some artifact of Eternity (commonly the gem eternite is used) and some part of the fate-linked individual (often blood or a tooth). For this to be effective it must be done while Eternity's gaze is turned fully towards Eana and the crafter.
It seems that maker's keys are made the same way, but a specific ritual involving components bearing the Traveler ancestry is needed immediately upon completion of the crafting process. Unfortunately, knowledge of this process seems to be lost, although Mucia and her Drow accomplice seem to believe form their notes that it was known by:
- Members of the Borean civilization in their lost academy of magic (reference to it being codified by a scholar named Astheron).
- Agran Marie and Alicionalliath.
- The ancient ancestors of the Frost Giants in their great citadel to the North East.
- Tamerakh and Xonim (presumably was taken to Mangulik).
