Brief background of Murus Meridainus

Murus Meridianus: Before Cyrillane was fully unified the North was separated from the South by inpenetrable forests, hills and marshes. The fort (known as the wall) held the most easily navigable pass through the hills. Even after unification, having a garrison at the fort was considered vital as the Great Northern Forest and the Marshes remain home to less civilised dangers and the Garrison was always maintained to keep the roads safe.

The fort is seat of House Flavia – minor house tasked with maintaining the small garrison. The house was granted permission to extract a small toll from caravan’s travelling through the pass in order to maintain the fort. There is a small village near the fort that provides the labour and materials that it needs to function.
