Horsemanship

The horses of Eälenspar tend to be small and wild, agile with lots of endurance but little structural strength. As such, they cannot usually bear the weight of a fully grown person, and so horse-riding is rare. The one exception is among the new men, where horses have just in the last few generations been bred large enough to serve as mounts, and this technology is very slowly spreading to other lands. Saddles and stirrups, and bridles have not yet been invented, but a few commanders of the new men have seen some possible military applications of this development.
