Chariots
In Eälendspar their are few beasts of burden which are large enough and fast enough for riding them to be effective. Instead of riding, the dominant technology for speedy travel is chariots and wagons. Wagons are of course more useful for bulk transport or for traveling long distances, but chariots are far quicker.
The primary use of chariots is in war, where they provide mobile platforms for elite warriors. This includes use as both archery platforms and battle taxis, but they are sometimes used for shock effect. Their main use, however, is as a platform for wizards, as spellcasting requires both battlefield position and a large range of motion. These chartios tend to be large, with room for a driver, the mage, and an elite bodyguard, often armed with a two handed sword, who will protect the chariot while the wizard completes their spell and moves off to another location. of course, since most spells in this context are attached to projectiles, it is still serving as an archery platform in this case. The bodyguard and or driver is also often some level of mage, to help the primary mage gather winds of magic.
Outside of war, chariots are the transport of the rich and sporty (motorcycle). In city elf and broken elf territory especially you might see young elves driving dangerously fast and taking corner too tight, ending in wheels spinning out in all directions and an expensive repair bill.
