When we last left our adventurers Alexander the Dhampir gunslinger, Ashtel the Dragonborn Drakewarden, Brenstine the Aasamir Scribe Wizard, Dharkon the Tiefling Dream Bard, Sarath the Earth Genasi Paladin and Nathanial the Werespider Bloodhunter.
  The desert night echoed with the death throes of the psionically warped sandworm. But victory offered little comfort. Alexander, the dhampir, teetered on the brink of collapse, the relentless hunger dragging him to the edge of oblivion. In his near-death state, the veil thinned, and he glimpsed the shadowy realm that fueled his curse. There, among the spectral figures of its past victims, a seductive power beckoned, promising reunion with his lost parents in exchange for embracing the darkness. Yet, Alexander stood firm, his resolve hardening against the tempting abyss. He would not succumb. He would fight the monsters of the dark, even as death's shadow loomed. Now, just a day's travel from the sanctuary of their allies, Alexander remained in a perilous balance, the darkness still whispering at the edges of his consciousness.
