Elves
The elves cannot be neatly summed up. In fact, they are so varied and wildly different from the other races that they are often split into many categories of elf and referred to by different names. Originally from this plane, elven ancestors fled the world at the beginning of the Jotun wars and hid within the parallel plane known as the Faye. After so many millennia, elves returned to E'dan, but have been forever changed. They now are fundamentally alien from life on E'dan. Their time in the Faye changed them and now they exist on a different level from other notable races such as humans.
Some major defining traits that all elves share in common are extended lifespans, enhanced vision, an innate resistance to magical charms and enchantments, and their race defining trancelike state which has replaced sleep. Culturally, elves are noted to have a rigid caste system, a love for nature and sense of duty to protect the natural world, and as such a tendency toward druidic magical arts. Their Faye lords, the Archfaye, are solely responsible for their new and alien nature.
