After the creation of The Bulwark exploration continued but monsters beyond The Bulwark offered more resistance and the wall itself offered no new places to make new camps of a meaningful size. As such, hit by the limited range of exploration activities funding for new explorations was slashed and eventually completely removed.

After the first attack on The Bulwark druids of the Holy Order of Druids had already begun discussing the sensibility of the exploration. Some had even taken the attack itself as a sign from the world tree and began working towards the removal of everyone from the wall.   This movement only gained momentum as it was now becoming harder to explore further and less and less news was heard from the explorers. Eventually, funding was removed and pressure was put on everyone else to do the same. Only because the archdruid at the time were people allowed to stay in the wall although they were not allowed to build new bases.
