Destruction of the Celestial Column

After Li'sleith, the third world tree to rise from the ocean, had given all the elves magic outside of that given by the gods many of them had begun to summon helpers and make pacts with otherworldly creatures. These creatures soon brought change to Niko and taught the elves what good and evil were.

Although the gods were powerful their powers were not great enough to fulfill every desire of every elf. As such many had to wait for their turn at godly powers. With the rise of Li'sleith however, this waiting was no longer needed for some of the elves. Some of them were now able to use magic without the help of the gods and summoned help from other planes in order to learn more about magic.   However, some of these summoned creatures implanted their ideals within the elves. Ideals of goodness and evil. Although many elves did not listen to them much a few did, and according to the surviving documents, they committed terrible crimes. The gods seeing the danger of this new shift and not willing to empower those with such ideals decided that it would be better to limit the use of the Celestial Column. This however, only emboldened those who had already succumbed to greed and in the end, a plot was carried out in which the Celestial Column would be destroyed because if those who had fallen to greed could not get godly powers, they thought no one should.
