Rise of Li'guth

With the rise of Li'guth so did the fey. According to them, there is a portal to another world, which they came from, close to the base of the world tree but no one has been able to confirm this. Since then other gateways to their world have been opened at seemingly random allowing explorers to confirm that it indeed does seem to be an entirely different world.

As the fey arrived in E'ath there was a huge discussion of what to do. As the Eldest of the fey were not in control of this world many fey, who were powerful in their own right, took this as an opportunity to assert their dominance.   This led to a lot of fighting between the fey before they had even met any other race in E'ath. Eventually, alliances formed and two large groups emerged. One called themselves the Seelie court, whereas the other mockingly took the name of the Unseelie court. Although both groups originated from the same place it was very obvious that they could not tolerate each other, so war soon began over who could stay close to the portal to their original realm.
