The Rise of Li'gnax

Geological / environmental event

1100AoC

The rise of Li'gnax was a welcome reprieve for the gods in Niko. After the destruction of the Celestial Column, their power had vaned and they had become unable to control the battle around Niko. With the new world tree, the battle quickly shifted to this new land.

As the battle shifted the gods regained some control over the area. Although their power had still not returned since the destruction of the Celestial Column, they now had enough breathing room to figure out what was going on. It was here that they realised that just as the mortals had needed them for power, so too did the gods need the devotion of mortals to sustain their own power and now that the extraplanar creatures had turned the elves to their side, the gods had fewer who were devoted to them.   Fortunately, many mortals were also tired of the war or simply unable to follow it south, so the gods were able to consolidate some power from the mortals who stayed behind. Although the newborn of mixed blood between elf and extraplanar were harder to convince, many of them still joined in devotion to gods, perhaps out of frustration from not being able to do anything about their fate.
