Tale of the Origin of the Refuge Woods

As the war of good and evil subsided it is said that blood from both sides combined and created children. One such child however had too much influence from both sides and was cursed to forever be an outcast and misunderstood. As she battled with the curse she performed many heroic deeds and eventually found rest in the Forest below the Crystal Peaks. It is said that her spirit still dwells here and keeps curses at bay.       Kezuth was born of the unusual union of evil and good. Although the war had long since died most still remembered the wars. Still, a few were born over the years with Kezuth being one of them. Her earliest memories are of being sold off as a slave. Her new master placed a curse upon her, limiting her magic and ability to channel her ancestral powers. These powers were unneeded for her new job as a servant.   One of the nights when she was performing her duties the mansion she was serving at came under attack. A loud crash was heard and as she rushed to the place of the crash Kezuth saw a room splashed in red blood and the crushed and severed hand still wearing the rings of her former master. As she took these rings she could feel the power binding her soul to servitude dissipate and the life of her former master fade. Still, the curse that limited her was still strong and did not seem to fade.   As Kezuth traveled the lands and performed many heroic deeds in search of relief from her curse she ultimately came short. It was only when she grew old and due to age gave up the search and settled down in the forest now known as the refuge woods that she would finally feel her curse fade. Here the trees would take her curse, and some believe her soul, and forever bring peace to whoever or whatever would choose the refuge woods as a resting place.
