Nisdain
The elven settlement of Nisdain was originally created in the first years of the first age as a twin city of what was eventually to become The Holy City. Here various aquatic races would serve and take care of Li'minar, the second world tree, after the earth under it collapsed and it fell into the ocean. As time went on the power of Li'minar was weak and so the city of Nisdain grew less important. This changed with the end of the first age when The First Scar was created and keeping Li'minar alive to treat the wound left there become of utmost importance. Due to political opposition Nisdain has still not regained its former glory and is purposefully kept as a small town so as not to create a second seat of religious importance as it once was. Due to this limitation very few land dwellers are allowed to live in the city at the same time although many aquatic humanoids have found ways to avoid this rule and have unofficially extended the city far beyond its original borders and well into the sea.
In more recent years the southern part of the city has increasingly been taken over by nomadic people coming from the Wasteland of Li'minar and seeking a place to live outside the wasteland. These nomads generally keep to the southern part of the city and have almost transformed that part to look like a completely different city due to how differently they build houses with many permanent buildings being little more than mud walls and tents.
Due to the influx of settlers and the rise of The Future Front many of the officials of Nisdain has not taken kindly to them and many have even begun amassing small militias in a preparation for driving them out. Although some of the population of Nisdain seems to agree with the hostility many more are against the move. This has caused small outbreaks of riots, demonstrations and even whispers of revolution. This has again caused more military preparation of city officials which some believe will cause the situation to spiral out of control and has caused a lot of tension in the city.
