Aethimia "The Dry", Captain of The Mermaid's Night
Aethimia is one of the most senior members of the Waterstriders and its current de facto leader. She got her fame from the many journeys she made south of E'ath and remains to this day the only captain that will transport the archdruid to The Hidden Grove. Her prowess at sniffing out treasure and resources as well as her ability to take fights at sea has earned her a great reputation and influence within the Waterstriders. Despite this she still sets out to see as often as possible and will leave the guild without leadership for months at a time only to return with untold treasure.
She is very quiet about her origins but her vestigial gills and webbing between her digits suggest some amount of mermaid or siren blood is likely running through her. Despite these signs she insist on her crew carrying her across any stretch of water to avoid getting wet. This has earned her the nickname "The Dry".
Her main ship, The Mermaid's Night, is a large four mast ship that has been dyed completely red. According to much of her crew it is very effective but also requires constant adjustments and steering to avoid damage and keep it from keeling over.
